Google recently announce its new search engine infrastructure that may replace the current Google search engine. The project, a next-generation architecture for Google’s web search, will focus on the search engine’s size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and etc.

The new infrastructure sits “under the hood” of Google’s search engine and isn’t completely finished yet. You can have a test run or preview at http://www2.sandbox.google.com/ and you are welcome to send Google any feedback or problems you have seen on the new infrastructure.

Do remember to put in the word caffeine any place in your feedback to indicate the feedback is for the new Google search engine’s infrastructure. I guess the reason they want you to put the word caffeine in your feedback is to show that the new infrastructure has taken “caffine” so that it can search or index faster and return more accurate result. Just like the effect of caffeine on human. Ha.. that’s cool.

Google Adsense ads are automatically targeted to the content of your website, but sometimes not all parts of your website are relevant to the main content of the page (for example text in side bar, header and etc.).

You may want Google Adsense to know more about your main content’s keywords so that Google Adsense can show more relevant ads.

You can do so by emphasize important content with section targeting. With section targeting, you can help Google Adsense to determine what parts of your content are important so that your site can show more targeted ads.

To add section targeting code to your site, you will need to know some basic HTML editing skill.

The HTML tags to emphasize a page section take the following format:

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->

<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Simply put the “start tag” before your important content and the “end tag” after the important content. The changes may take weeks to see the effect before Google Adsense crawlers take into account any changes you’ve made to your site.
